October is breast cancer awareness month. We read every day that everyone-not just women- should increase their intake of colorful fruits and vegetables. Why?The reason is that the fruits and veggies contain antioxidants, phytochemicals and fiber, all of which play a role in preventing cancer. You must eat a variety in order to get all the goodies. No one food has them all and supplements will not provide the same benefits as eating real food.
